As a web developer who has been in the website hosting business for many years, I can confidently say that GoDaddy is not a good choice for website hosting. In my experience, there are many reasons why GoDaddy falls short when it comes to providing a reliable and secure hosting service.

GoDaddy is too expensive

GoDaddy is notorious for being too expensive. Their hosting plans are often much more expensive than other providers, and they offer very little in terms of value for money. While it’s true that they offer a range of features and tools, many of these are either unnecessary or can be found elsewhere for a much lower price.

GoDaddy websites get hacked

Another major issue with GoDaddy is the frequency with which their customers’ websites get hacked (only speaking from experience). This is a serious problem, as it can lead to the loss of valuable data and can even damage a business’s reputation. To make matters worse, when a site does get hacked, GoDaddy is quick to offer a premium security package at an additional cost. This is a clear indication that they are more interested in making money than in protecting their customers’ websites.

GoDaddy support can’t help

Finally, GoDaddy’s support is notoriously poor. They have a reputation for being unhelpful, leaving customers to deal with problems on their own. This can be especially frustrating when dealing with technical issues or security breaches. The main solution I’ve received from GoDaddy is to spend more money to purchase a higher level of security.

Overall while GoDaddy may seem like a convenient and popular choice for website hosting, the reality is that their service falls short and there are better options out there. Okay, since I spent the entire blog bashing GoDaddy I figure it’s only right to point out a plus – I think their DNS services seem to work well. So if you purchase a domain I think that is perfectly fine and secure. I just wouldn’t get sucked into the all-in-one type of mentality that you have to have website hosting with them too.

Recommendation – Kinsta is a Better Choice

If you’re looking for a reliable and secure hosting provider, I would recommend looking elsewhere. My go-to recommendation is Kinsta.

Unlike GoDaddy, Kinsta provides top-notch hosting services that are optimized for speed, security, and performance.

Kinsta’s hosting plans come with a range of features and tools that can help you create and manage your website with ease. They offer fast-loading times, automatic backups, and advanced security features to ensure that your website is protected against hacking attempts and other security threats.

Moreover, Kinsta’s support team is exceptional, providing prompt and effective assistance whenever you need it. They are available 24/7 and are always willing to go the extra mile to help you resolve any issues you may encounter.

Overall, if you want a hosting provider that is trustworthy and reliable, Kinsta is a great choice. With their focus on speed, security, and support, you can be confident that your website is in good hands.
